Harare (dpa) - Police in Zimbabwe Tuesday arrested four women in the second city of Bulawayo during protests against school fee hikes, a rights group said.
Another two women were picked up for questioning in the eastern city of Mutare, said Women of Zimbabwe Arise (WOZA) in a statement.
WOZA held a series of "peaceful protests" on Tuesday against massively-hiked fees in government and council-run schools, the group said. Protests against school fees in Bulawayo and Harare earlier this month saw around 200 arrests.
"Four women involved in the community based protest conducted at schools were arrested around 11 am this morning," said the statement.
In Mutare, two women were arrested following a meeting organised by WOZA at the weekend, it added. WOZA frequently holds protests against deteriorating social and economic conditions in Zimbabwe.
