TAYLORSVILLE — A Key Bank was robbed at gunpoint on Friday. No one was hurt, but police are asking the public for help identifying the alleged robber.
The United Police Department said that about 11:58 a.m. on Friday a man entered the Key West Bank on 1939 W. 4700 South in Taylorsville. He brandished a handgun and yelled that it was a robbery.
He handed the tellers a plastic bag and told them to put money in it, and the tellers complied.
The alleged robber then left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was seen leaving the area in a white passenger car, possibly a Honda or a Toyota.
A few customers were in the bank at the time of the robbery, but no one was physically hurt. One woman was checked by United Fire because she was emotionally distraught after the robbery.
Officers from the UPD searched the area extensively, but they were unable to locate the suspect. They have released photos from the robbery in hopes that the public can provide information or identify the robber.
The robber is a Caucasian male with a slender build who around 5 foot 10 inches. He was wearing a dark colored, zip-up hoodie with the hood up, and he was wearing a green Halloween-type mask.
The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
