(KSL News) -- An Eyewitness News Investigation is getting results.
A man of the cloth is agreeing to changes inside his Salt Lake church.
Pastor Steve Sandlin runs a shelter for men. Men who told KSL they were forced to work in the church basement for the Pastor's private company for as little as 58 cents an hour. They were also required to donate money back to the program.
Based on our investigation, State Licensing officials launched their own, and called a hearing. Today, Sandlin agreed to:
- Pay the men minimum wage.
- Set a flat fee, so clients know how much the program costs.
- Not charge the men for food. The food is donated to the program.
- Let them attend church services of their choice.
House of Refuge has 15- days to submit new policies to the State. Officials tell KSL they'll keep an eye on the program.
