(KSL News) -- We've learned Governor Jon Huntsman, Junior has made five changes to his cabinet late this afternoon.

Palmer DePaulis is the new executive director of the Department of Community and Culture. D'Arcy Dixon Pignanelli will serve on the Tax Commission. Richard Ellis will become the new Executive Director of the Department of Administrative Services. John Nixon will be the executive director of the Governor's Office on Planning and Budget. And Jesse Gallegos will serve as the new executive director of the Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice.

Governor Huntsman says each person will move into their new positions in the next few weeks. He announced the changes about 4:00, saying he appreciates his staff's hard work.

Gov. Huntsman: "I appreciate some mighty good public servants who are standing up here with me who have served the state mighty well, and will continue to serve the state."

The Governor says the changes come as he's seen some other shifts in his cabinet, including General Counsel Mike Lee, who left the office to become a law clerk for US Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito. Lee will be replaced by Michele Christiansen
