(KSL News) -- UDOT says the newest portion of I-15 will soon open in Utah County.
Transportation officials say they'll open a carpool lane in time for the Friday morning commute. The new carpool lane stretches from the Alpine Interchange to University Parkway.
UDOT says the lane will save drivers gas, mileage on cars, and 15 to 20 minutes during heavy traffic.
Officials say the project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget.
