Police searching for possible arsonist after 4 suspicious fires

OGDEN — Firefighters in Ogden may have an arsonist on their hands. Investigators are keeping their eyes on two areas, looking for any suspicious activity where four fires have started in the past 24 hours.

The first area being watched is near 624 West and 21st Street.

Three fires were started there on Sunday, one on each side of 21st and one by the landfill. According to Ogden officials, the fires burned about a half -acre.

The second area being watched by investigators Monday morning is near 530 River Drive. A small fire was started there Sunday night and burned about 150 feet from a structure. The flames were put out quickly.

These four fires were all started within a mile of each other, leading investigators to believe they are suspicious. Anyone with information about how they started is asked to call police at 801-629-8552.
