Randall Jeppesen reportingMany college-aged and younger members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints refer to President Gordon B. Hinckley as "their prophet," because he's been the president of the Church for most of their lives.
Speaking with LDS college students, they all seem to have a special memory of President Hinckley.
"He got to talk to us and say how much he appreciated us singing, and his love for music and us," said one student.
And President Hinckley's extensive travels have helped him touch the lives of the younger generations all over the country and the world.
"As he walked in he waved his cane to everyone," said one student from Arizona. "I just thought what a great man."
"Grab life by the horns. That's how you have to go throughout life," said another student during a visit by Pres. Hinckley to Mississippi.
"To stand a little taller. I think that's such an important phrase we all have to understand." said another student as Pres. Hinckley spoke in Indonesia.
They all say Pres. Hinckley will be dearly missed.
