AP Photo/Douglas C. Pizac LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- Chrysler LLC says it settled a lawsuit over a crash that killed nine people from Utah State University in 2005.
Chrysler spokesman Michael Palese told The Salt Lake Tribune that an agreement was reached before Christmas. Details won't be disclosed.
Eight Utah State students and their instructor were killed when a Chrysler van blew a tire on Interstate 84 and rolled down an embankment.
A lawsuit filed in federal court in Salt Lake City claimed the van had flaws.
An attorney for the families, Brad Bearnson, also confirmed that a settlement was reached. The family of one victim did not participate in the litigation.
A lawsuit against the tire maker is pending.
