HURRICANE — Three people were injured Tuesday in a car accident in Hurricane that temporarily closed a portion of the road while one person was extricated from a vehicle.
Hurricane City police responded to the three-car accident at the intersection of 3400 West and S.R. 9 on Tuesday afternoon. Three people were found to have been injured in the accident.
After Hurricane Valley Fire and Rescue responded to the scene, one person had to be extricated from a vehicle, according to police. One person was transported via Life Flight to an area hospital. Two others were taken via ambulance to the hospital.
Westbound traffic on S.R. 9 had to be redirected for about 90 minutes, according to police.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation. The conditions of those injured were not immediately apparent Tuesday evening, and their identities had not been released.
