(KSL News) -- A new poll shows a majority of Utahns would not pay to drive in the HOV lane on the freeway, but they are willing to pay for a TRAX expansion.

In a Dan Jones poll for KSL and the Deseret Morning News, 52 percent strongly opposed a plan allowing single drivers to pay extra to drive in the car pool lanes on I-15. In fact, 81 percent say they would not be willing to pay 50 dollars a month for that privilege.

As for a new proposal to add four Trax lines, 78 percent say they would support putting it on the ballot. 36 percent were in favor of a property tax increase to pay for it.
