There is a long list of things that we feel we need to get done for the holidays: Parties, baking, neighbor gifts, cards, programs, dinners, family gatherings, decorating, and church functions. This can make holidays unpleasant to say the least. Dr. Matt Townsend states "It is easier to say no to something when we have a deeper yes inside." There is a very fine line between something that is very important and ones that aren't so important. Important rules to use that will take the stress out and replace it with loving memories. • Keep things in perspective • Research show they usually turn out better than anticipated • Be you • Be present • View these events as a 3 act play Plan something before that is fun Be present while attending Plan something to look forward to after the event. • Plan ahead Remember that you are important or you would not have been invited or asked to participate.
