SALT LAKE CITY — The Metro Gang Unit Tuesday declared a new "public enemy number one" for the week.
Justin Dwayne Espinoza, 30, was convicted and served time for a weapons-related charge, and is currently being sought for a violation of his federal probation, according to Deputy U.S. Marshal Rick Simonelli.
He said that Espinoza is a member of a violent street gang and has prior arrests for alleged assault, weapons and drug violations.
"Usually we put our public enemy number one as someone that's got a history of violence or a weapons offence that we want to get off the streets," Simonelli said.
Simonelli said that Espinoza is known to frequent Salt Lake City and West Valley City.
Police describe Espinoza as a white male who is about 5-feet-10-inches tall, weighing about 195 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes and a variety of tattoos.
He has tattoos of an "X" on one forearm and a "III" on another; "Chiques" is tattooed on his neck and back; "113%" Surenos is tattooed on his left leg; "Sur X3" and "SUR SXT" are tattooed on his right and left hands respectively.
He is known to go by the name "Chipmunk."
