Andrew Adams, KSL NewsradioThe Alpine School Board is doubling its pay, to a lesser degree following in the Jordan School Board's footsteps.

Board members will now get $500 a month instead of $250.

They'll also get double the compensation for extra meetings: $120 for meetings under four hours, $180 for meetings over four hours.

Conservatively, that's more than $10,000 extra if you're one board member who says she went to 85 extra meetings one year.

Board members won't get double the insurance, convention junkets, or free meals.
