SPRINGVILLE, Utah (AP) -- A winter playground in Hobble Creek Canyon is back in business.
Springville has opened Jolley's Ranch up to sledding, tubing, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. The 360-acre park had only been available for summer use until the city reopened it on New Year's Eve.
A sledding hill at the park was closed in 1983 and the area was completely shut down for years with "No Trespassing" signs. The park only reopened for summer campers a few years ago.
The city decided to bring the park back for year-round use and so far it's been a hit. Sledding and tubing are free, but there is a charge for snowshoers and cross country skiers. Alpine skiing and snowboarding are off-limits.
