At 91 miles long, Flaming Gorge Reservoir is not only one of Utah's greatest fisheries it is also a popular recreation spot. Rising 502 feet above bedrock, Flaming Gorge Dam impounds waters of the Green River to form the reservoir that was named when a daring explorer saw the sun reflecting off of the red rocks.
