(KSL News) Murder charges have been filed against a man accused of killing a truck stop security guard.
Roger Malcolm tried to buy a pack of gum at Sapp Brothers on California Avenue this past Wednesday. When he complained about slow service, security guard Verne Jenkins went to help the clerk. Malcolm pulled out a handgun and shot Jenkins in the neck.
Malcolm remains in the Salt Lake County Jail on one-million dollars bail. He is expected to make his first court appearance sometime next week.
