This is the book horrible hauntings. Looks pretty normal -- there are words, there are pictures. But something very special happens when you put your smartphone or tablet computer in front of the drawings. The book uses "augmented reality" to bring the ghosts inside to life. And then, you can interact with them.

It's a technology author Shirin Yim Bridges says she couldn't wait to use in a book.

All of the ghosts in the book have some basis in history -- from Abraham Lincoln to the Headless Horseman, to a famous ghost ship. And while the 3-D ghosts may get kids into the book -- the scary stories will have them hooked -- and learning. Each ghost's historical background is fully explained.
