The key to running a successful business is really to find your niche. And that's exactly what Ryne (rine) Hazen (hay-zen) has done with Hazen Studios in Kaysville.
This focus on teams is probably why Hazen Studios is the official photographer for the NuSkin Jazz dancers. In fact, Ryne is so customer-focused, his clients know they can call him for any photography need. He cut his teeth in the business doing commercial photography over 33 years ago; however, his main focus now is high school seniors and families. A photography session with Hazen Studios includes hair and makeup for women so they don't have to worry about those important details on picture day.
Ryne recently had the opportunity photograph Governor Gary Herbert and his family at the Governor's Mansion for a holiday event they were hosting. This included the entire extended family and shots of each individual family. One of the best parts of the shoot, Ryne said, was the grandkid picture Utah First Lady Jeanette Herbert requested. Some of the kids were upset, but Ryne combined two photos, and Mrs. Herbert loved the finished product.
Right now Hazen Studios is in the heart of their high school senior photography season. It extends from the first of the year through the end of May. Many of these kids want to use the photos as an insert for graduation announcements. However, with a photo lab, Color Pro Lab, in the Kaysville studio, Hazen Studios is also set up to provide custom graduation announcements upon request, in addition to produce all prints and products for their clients' orders.
Hazen Studios is a great example of why Salt Lake City has been named as one of the Top 25 Mid-Size Cities for Art from AmericanStyle Magazine.
