(KSL News) It'll probably be worse on Christmas Eve on Monday, but it was pretty wild at the stores today!
On this last full weekend before the big day, the procrastinators were out in a big way. At the Gateway, the stores were busy, and the sidewalks were packed with shoppers.
Many people have been holding back this year, waiting until now to get the best prices; others say they just like the hustle and bustle of it all.
And, of course, many men waited until today to start their shopping! One man said, "I've got tons of stuff to do, gotta shop for the whole family now. I've got one down and eight more to go."
When asked if she had any last minute shopping to do, one woman replied, "My mom, dad, the whole family still shopping for them too."
One shopper said she bought things for herself.
Many of the nation's retailers have reported up and down sales the last few weeks, and all are counting on this weekend to wrap up the year on a positive note.
