SALT LAKE CITY — Even though the Runnin' Utes have lost their first three conference games, Utah head coach Larry Krystkowiak is feeling confident about the direction his team is heading.
And he should - those three losses came by a combined eight points - a one point loss in overtime against Arizona State, a three point loss to the then No. 3 Arizona Wildcats in Tucson, and a four point loss at home to UCLA on Thursday.
"We just have to stay the course and keep the faith," Krystkowiak said.
Next up for the Utes is a USC team that is searching to end a 14-game road losing streak. You have to go back to Nov. 30, 2011 to find USC's last road win. The streak includes 10 consecutive road losses.
For the Utes, expect them to keep the pace of the game and play stellar defense, as they have all season. The Utes are holding opponents to 10% below their season field goal percentage - something Utah will need to continue to do to have a chance to pick up a couple of these conference games, starting with USC Saturday at 4:00 pm in the Huntsman Center.
We caught up with Larry Krystkowiak, Jason Washburn and Jarred DuBois Friday after practice, you can hear their comments in the video player above.
