EMERY COUNTY — Police are still looking for information about a man that has been missing for about a week.

Matthew Alan Larsen, 25, was last seen heading into the foothills in Orangeville near the Castle Dale Area. His family has not seen him since last weekend.

Police used dogs to search for Larsen last night, but have not found him and are looking for any information on his whereabouts.

"It is unusual for (Larsen) to do this, (based on) talking with family, who are very concerned," said Det. John Barnett with the Emery County Sheriff's Office.

Barnett called the disappearance "suspicious" because the situation seems out of character for the missing man. Larsen also appears not to have taken anything with him, including a dog that he owns, and did not tell anyone where he was going.

Barnett said there is no indication the man may be camping either, especially given the weather conditions.

Anyone with information about Larsen or his whereabouts are asked to call the Sheriff's office at 435-381-2404 or directly contact Det. John Barnett at 435-609-9883.
