(KSL News) -- A kitchen fire forced people out of two Sandy apartments.
A mother and her daughter came home this afternoon to find a smoke-filled apartment. When fire crews arrived, flames had filled the kitchen.
They say plastic water lines melted in the ceiling, causing damage to the apartment below.
Fire officials say two apartments are unlivable, and three have heavy smoke damage.
Investigators are on scene trying to determine what caused the fire.
