CEDAR CITY -- From Cedar City to Park City, Southern Utah University is taking a "different" production of an old favorite on the road to spread a little cheer throughout the state.
The show is called "A Christmas Carol on the Air." What's different is how they tell the story. Audiences watch the actors perform a radio show.
The familiar characters--Scrooge and the ghost of Jacob Marley--take center stage, but this part comedy, part drama production features the sometimes zany side of creating a small town radio show.
The show has been a Christmas favorite in Cedar City for years, but this year they're taking it on the road, to Park City.
Fred Adams, "Scrooge", said, "We're looking forward to, you know, as old as we are, trouping around and acting like teenagers."

Holiday classic "A Christmas Carol" told as a live radio broadcast...with a few clever twists on the old classic! An original work. Starring Utah Shakespeare Festival Founder Fred C. Adams as Scrooge. Dec 20th - 22nd 2012The cast is made up of students and old pros alike.
"We always had a few students in it, but now the rest of the cast is made up of students from the department, and it's great," Brad Carroll, who wrote the score and music, said.
The show makes references to other stories, like Sherlock Holmes, and offers inside jokes for the cities it's playing in, but ultimately, it is the Dickens story filled with hope.
"A Christmas Carol on the Air" plays through Saturday night in Park City's Egyptian Theatre.
