(KSL News) Tuition is on the rise at the University of Utah, and so are administrative paychecks.

Over the past five years, University President Michael Young and his 11-member cabinet have received a 37 percent jump in salary.

In comparison, the faculty has seen an average 7 percent increase, while tuition has gone up 45 percent.

Young says his top administrator's salaries are small compared to the amount of donations they bring to the school each year. Some professors say they are surprised at the disparities between the pay increases.
