Marc Giauque, KSL Newsradio Utah's tourism promoters are meeting in Salt Lake today to talk about the message they want to send to people planning next year's summer vacation.

To people like Leigh von der Esch of the Utah Tourism Office, this is a big deal. She says it should be for all Utahns. "Tourism is about a $6 billion industry to this state, so we consider it a great part; and certainly the governor feels that tourism is one of the driving forces of our great economy," she said.

Von der Esch says last year, when they were given money to advertise out of the state, they saw an 800 percent increase in the number of calls to their office in the first 24 hours of the campaign.

She says the "Utah: Life Elevated" slogan is recognized as one of the few around the country that has been very successful.
