If you know me you know that, well, I’m just a sentimental romantic fool. And just about my favorite special day of the year is Valentine’s Day. Of course, I always think that sharing love and delicious food with your special someone is a perfect way to spend Valentine’s Day, whether it’s at home or out on the town.
So if you haven’t made plans yet for Valentine’s Day, here are a few last minute suggestions. I think probably the three most romantic restaurants in our area – for those of you who really want to impress your honeys – are La Caille, Log Haven, and up in Park City, my favorite French restaurant, Chenez.
Speaking of French flare, how about a little trip to the City of Lights right here at home with a special Valentine’s Day dinner at The Paris? For Valentine’s Day, Eric DeBonis and the folks at the Paris are offering a menu they’re calling “all things red and pink,” with dishes like oven-roasted beet salad, shrimp Paris, pancetta wrapped Alaskan salmon, and molten chocolate cake with raspberry coulis, just to name a few of the special Valentine’s Day offerings at The Paris.
And for those of you looking for a romantic getaway, The Peery Hotel in downtown Salt Lake is offering a “fall in love all over again” Valentine’s Day package which includes an overnight stay at the Peery, dinner for two at Baci or Christopher’s, a bottle of Champagne or sparkling cider, chocolate covered strawberries, red roses, complimentary valet parking and breakfast for two in the morning with late checkout. The Peery Valentine’s Day package is good from tomorrow through Monday. Well, here’s hoping for a lovely Valentine’s Day for you and your special Valentine.
