Each year at about this time Pearl Wright of Community Nursing Services gets in touch with me so that I can remind KSL listeners about the important work CNS has done since 1928 and the great fundraiser they put on every year. Next Wednesday and Thursday at the Salt Lake Sheraton Community Nursing Services will celebrate its 17th annual Art & Soup fundraiser and Pearl and the rest of the gang at CNS would love to see you there.

As you might know, Community Nursing Services provides home health and hospice care to thousands of uninsured or underinsured Utahns ever year. And a big chunk of their annual budget comes from the yearly Art & Soup extravaganza.

This years’ Art & Soup will feature samplings of scrumptious soups from about 30 of Utah’s best chefs and restaurants. And among those donating their time this year for this important charity event are Lugano, Olio, Third & Main, The Juhl Haus, Boulevard, Boswell’s on 3rd, Biaggi’s, the Singing Cricket Café, and The Dodo Restaurant, just to name a few. In addition, Art & Soup attendees can enjoy an art gallery exhibition featuring over 40 of Utah’s most talented artisans.

According to 2005 Art & Soup Chairperson Karen Curinga, the theme for this year’s Art & Soup will be a “Roman Holiday,” complete with Italian food and strolling musicians.

Again, the 17th annual celebration of Art & Soup takes place next Wednesday and Thursday at the Salt Lake Sheraton. You can pick up tickets for either lunch or dinner right at the door and do your part to help Community Nursing Services continue to help Utahns in need.

Art & Soup: It’s a delicious way to make a difference.
