SHANGHAI, China, Apr 26, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- A Shanghai woman sentenced to 10 days in jail for scratching a police officer ticketing her for jaywalking said she was stressed out from work.
The woman, whom police identify only by the surname Liu, was ticketed for walking across a busy intersection at Huaihai and Huangpi roads.
Shanghai Daily reports the woman wouldn't pay the jaywalking fine, berated one officer and scratched another's hand, which broke the skin.
Three female traffic police assistants detained her after Liu warned male police officers not to touch her.
The incident was caught on camera by a TV crew following police for a story on a new traffic policy.
Liu apologized for her actions and submitted to the punishment.
