Man arrested after North Salt Lake standoff

(KSL News) A man is under arrest for engaging in a standoff with police early this morning.

Police say the man was in a car with a woman who was being arrested in Bountiful. During the arrest, the man slipped into the driver's seat and took off.

Police chased him to a mobile home park in North Salt Lake where he barricaded himself inside a trailer for several hours. At about 5:30 a.m. police forced the man out with tear gas.

During the standoff, police arrested several other people who were wanted on outstanding warrants.
