PARK CITY — One big day of online giving. That's the idea for Park City's "Live PC, Give PC" campaign that is now underway.
With Thanksgiving less than a week away, the campaign encourages people who enjoy Park City to give thanks and donate to the nonprofits of that community.
"It's just a really good time to focus on community and all the things we love, and get ready for the holiday," said Katie Wright, manager of the Park City Foundation Programs.
Within a 24 hour period, they are raising money online to help support the Park City Arts Festival, Deer Valley music concerts, trails, and many other things that make the resort town so unique.
Carey Cusimano, Deer Valley Music Festival vice president of development said, "I personally got involved because I've lived in this community for almost 17 years and all the nonprofits are why we enjoy the community."
- Raised over $330,000 in 24 hours
- 1,500 donors
- 55 nonprofits benefited
- Raise $500,000

Simply put, "Our goal on 11/16/12 is to get everyone that recreates, lives or works in Summit County to log on to livepcgivepc.org and donate to the many organizations that enrich their lives every day," said Trisha Worthington, The Park City Foundation executive director.
Live PC Give PC started last year, and was the first event of this kind in Utah. Organizers say the response has been overwhelming.
The Summit Land Conservancy earns about 5 percent of its operating budget during the 24 hour drive.
"This is a great program for all nonprofits here in Park City," said Cheryl Fox, executive director of the conservancy. "And it's a great way to get our message out to people in the community who maybe don't realize that open space that we enjoy here isn't free."
The Park City Foundation hopes to receive $500,000 by midnight tonight. It appeared to reach the goal.
The site livepcgivepc.orgincludes detailed information about each nonprofit — searchable by category — and allows donors to manage their giving by recording online contributions and storing receipts.
The Park City Foundation will be awarding grants of $5,000, $2,500 and $1,250 to the organizations that finish first, second and third, respectively, by the number of unique donors. In addition, many participating nonprofits have matching grants in place.
