WEST VALLEY CITY — Police are seeking information about a man they say pulled a gun on Kmart loss prevention employees when they confronted him about suspected shoplifting.
The incident occurred about 8:45 a.m. Saturday at Kmart, 1770 W. 4100 South, police said.
The man is described as Polynesian in his late teens to early 20s, with a ponytail on the top of his head. Kmart employees were escorting the man they believed was shoplifting to store managers when he pulled out a handgun and threatened to shoot them, police said.
The man then ran out through the front doors. Police say the man should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information can contact police at 801-840-4000.
