OGDEN - Seven players scored in double figures as Weber State opened the 2012-13 season with a dominating 110-52 win over Arizona Christian Friday night at the Dee Events Center. The 58-point win is the second largest margin of victory in school history.

Weber State never trailed in the game against Arizona Christian, an NAIA school from Phoenix. The Wildcats led by as many as 32 in the first half and led 55-23 at halftime. WSU started the second half on a 19-8 run and never looked back.

The 'Cats shot 70 percent from the field in the second half and ended the game shooting 64 percent, compared to 26 percent for the Firestorm. WSU also outrebounded Arizona Christian 50-29 and finished the game shooting 13-25 from three-point range.

"This was a good game to start the season with and we were able to get a lot of guys on the floor and get our confidence up," said WSU head coach Randy Rahe. "I thought we stayed with our system and executed what we wanted. We guarded hard and had a great effort throughout the game. We still have some work to do but it was a good start."

New Wildcat Davion Berry led the team with a game-high 17 points. Freshman Joel Bolomboy added 16 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double in his first career-game. He also finished 5-5 from the field and added two blocks.

Jordan Richardson finished with 15 points and seven assists, Frank Otis also had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds and senior Scott Bamforth added 12 points and a career-high eight assists. Freshman Royce Williams finished with 11 points and James Hajek added 10.

The Wildcats will now hit the road for their next three games beginning next Thursday at San Jose State.
