SALT LAKE CITY — With the second debate between President Obama and Mitt Romney happening tonight, people are sure to take to social media to post their opinions. But have you ever been so annoyed at someone's political posts on Facebook, you've decided to stop being their friend? If you have, one survey says you're not alone.

If you have a Facebook or Twitter account, you probably have at least one "friend" or "follower" who loves to use those sites to post their political opinions.

One Salt Lake City woman told KSL, "I've seen people post five times on the same thing, every day."

One man walking downtown said, "Especially during the debates. They're non-stop. Every second, they'll be talking about everything (the candidates) say. Sometimes it just gets annoying and it blows up your ‘news feed.'"

#poll

According to a Pew Internet survey, 18 percent of social networking site users have unfriended, blocked or hidden the comments of someone they disagree with politically. Out of that 18 percent, 10 percent did it because the offender posted too many political posts; 9 percent did it because they saw some that may have offended them; 8 percent take these measures because they argued with someone online.

One Facebook user told us, "There is a girl I just unfriended just because she keeps talking about the president so much and (about) how much she hates (Mitt) Romney."

The study says people who label themselves as liberal are more prone to do this than moderate or conservative people. One man told us he normally doesn't unfriend someone right away.

"There is probably a two or three post grace period, for me. I have, when something was so ridiculous or so egregious, I just went, ‘No, you're done,' (and unfriended)."
