Jeffs was transferred to the prison following his sentencing on charges of rape as an accomplice earlier this month. He is now undergoing a five-week assessment.
A spokesman for the Department of Corrections says it will be at least three years before he is eligible for a parole hearing. Jeffs lawyers say they will appeal.
