(KSL News) Tonight begins Dick Nourse's last week of anchoring the news here at KSL TV. In fact it's a short week. His last night is Wednesday.
All this month we've been bidding Dick a fond but bittersweet farewell, and tonight we hear from another anchorman, Brian Williams of the NBC Nightly News.
"From black and white film to color video, and now to high definition, KSL 5's Dick Nourse has seen it all. Alright, he wasn't quite there when Philo Farnsworth was beginning television, but it was close.
"Technology may have changed over the years, but Dick's commitment to journalistic integrity and storytelling never has changed. Over the years, Dick has witnessed the city, the state, and our nation change a lot. He's brought the news and information into the Utah community for 43 years, and all of us here at NBC News in New York want to wish Dick the very best," he said.
We have a lot planned for Dick's last day in the anchor chair. You won't want to miss his final newscast on Eyewitness News at 10. Also, have a fun program, a Dick Nourse Gala, planned for our 6:30 newscast that night.
We invite everyone to come say a personal goodbye to Dick. Please join us here at Broadcast House at the Triad Center tomorrow afternoon from 3 to 6.
