(KSL News) -- They've been a fixture at Salt Lake's Calvary Baptist Church for more than three decades. Today, the Reverend France Davis and his wife, Willene Davis, were honored for their 32-years as leaders of the church.

Special services were held this morning and then there was an anniversary brunch this afternoon.

Rev. Davis and his wife have been major players in Utah's religious community.

Rev. France Davis: "It's been an exciting opportunity and a wonderful time. We've been able to get a lot of things done, and in the process of getting tings done, make a difference in people's lives.

In 1973 Reverend Davis was asked to fill-in when the pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church resigned. He never left.

The church had about 150 members 32-years ago; there are nearly 900 today.
