(KSL News) -- South Towne mall is going where no other Utah shopping center has gone before.
The mall has announced plans to expand by adding a one hundred thousand square foot open air shopping center on the west side of the facility. This will make it the first indoor outdoor mall in the state.
South Towne officials say the new "Village at South Towne Center" will include 20 retailers and restuarants centered around a large outdoor plaza.
The project should be completed by summer 2007.
