PROVO, Utah (AP) -- A trial has been set for the driver of a semi that exploded on US 6 in Spanish Fork Canyon last year.
Thirty-two-year-old Travis Stewart of Rexburg, Idaho, has pleaded NOT guilty to several charges, including causing a catastrophe, reckless endangerment and reckless driving.
Last August, authorities say the semi was carrying 36-thousand pounds of explosives when it jackknifed, skidded across the road, and exploded.
The blast caused a 70-foot-wide crater in the road and injured at least ten people. It also destroyed the semi, set wildfires and damaged nearby railroad tracks.
