Randall Jeppesen reportingFour thieves armed with a shotgun and an aluminum bat stormed a convenience store in the middle of the night.

Three of them cornered two clerks-- a man and a woman-- as the fourth grabbed money from the cash register and calling cards.

Salt Lake Police Lt. Sandra Urry: "One of the suspects did have a shot gun and the other one had a baseball bat."

Armed Robbers Hit Convenience Store

Urry says they grabbed money and phone cards. Police say the clerks were shaken up by the robbery but not harmed.

The suspects are described as four males, all about five foot six, medium build. Police did find the bat they think was used in the robbery.

They're now checking surveillance tapes from the store near 9th North and 9th West.
