LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- Jaycee Carroll scored 20 and Gary Wilkinson added 19 points to lead Utah State to a 71-68 win over Austin Peay on Tuesday night.

Carroll also finished with eight assists and seven rebounds for the Aggies (3-3). Utah State also got 12 points from Tai Wesley.

Fernandez Lockett scored 17, Wes Channels 16 and Drake Reed had 14 points for Austin Peay (1-2), which missed a 3-pointer that would have tied it at the buzzer.

The Aggies outrebounded the Governors 29-19 and led by as much as 13 in the second half, but needed six free throws in the final 94 seconds to keep up with a furious comeback by the Governors. Channels hit a 3-pointer with 1:23 to play to cut the lead to three.

But Wilkinson and Carroll made four free throws in the final minute to offset a basket by Derek Wright and then Wright missed a 3-pointer as time ran out.

Utah State led 25-11 early in the first half until an 8-2 run by the Governors brought the score to 27-19 with 5:55 to play. Carroll scored 11 in the first half to help the Aggies to a 36-24 halftime lead.
