The time has come to say farewell and Godspeed to our longtime colleague and dear friend, Dick Nourse.
Dick, of course, is retiring from the Eyewitness News anchor desk after 43 years. Needless to say, the KSL family will miss him, and we suspect most of you will too. He's been so much a part of all of our lives for more than four eventful, and at times, tumultuous decades. In many ways, he's been a stabilizing force in our communities, bringing comforting continuity to generations of Utahns.
The story of how he first got the job at KSL is well-documented - dropping into the station almost on a whim at age 24, auditioning, and immediately becoming the station's Weekend Anchor.
Instantly, he connected with the audience, and before long he was delivering the news each weeknight at 6 and 10. He's been "connecting" ever since. Indeed, the longevity of his remarkable career is unrivaled in American television news.
Now Dick is moving on to a well-deserved retirement.
From all of us at KSL, we wish you the very best. Thanks for leading our team so professionally these many years. You're a veritable legend - a giant in our community and our industry, and we'll genuinely miss seeing and hearing you each night.
