OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- The Ogden School District is offering pay raises and bonuses for some substitute teachers.
The goal is for the district to have a good pool of substitutes and to offer competitive wages.
The district has 106 substitute teachers.
Of those, 13 are long-term subs who fill in for one teacher and 26 are consistent subs who work each day but rotate from classroom to classroom.
Sixty-seven other subs are called when needed, and can decline the substitute job.
The increase is $6 per day.
