(KSL News) Utahns are being urged to fast on Thursday to bring attention to those who do not have enough to eat.
"Feed America Day" began six years ago in Provo and asks that all people fast for two meals exactly one week before Thanksgiving, and then contribute the food, or money equivalent, from that meal to a charity that helps the hungry.
Each year, Sen. Orrin Hatch sponsors a proclamation in the Senate calling the day part of the "genuine spirit of Thanksgiving."
