SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Former Salt Lake City mayor Palmer DePaulis is back in politics.

Mayor-elect Ralph Becker has named DePaulis to head the transition team as Becker prepares to take over for Rocky Anderson.

DePaulis was Salt Lake City's mayor from 1985-92. He is now the executive director of the Utah Department of Community and Culture.

Becker was elected last week to succeed Anderson, who did not seek a third term in office.

Becker plans to announce who else will be part of the transition team in the next week.
