SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A six-page suicide note left for family by a Kearns woman believed to have killed herself and three children in a Kearns house fire has left her family confused.

Sharal Harper says the note from her daughter, Sharon Al-Shimmary, doesn't explain the 40-year-old's decisions.

She says Al-Shimmary expresses love for her family in the letter and asks them not to hate her.

Police say Al-Shimmary and her children -- Ashley, 9, and Christopher, 7-- died of smoke inhalation in the Oct. 28 fire. A cause of death for 3-year-old Heather is still unknown.

Investigators found the family inside a locked bedroom at the rear of the house. They say the fire was started intentionally and an accelerant used.
