(KSL News) Students and faculty of Spanish Fork Junior High School honored their teacher today with a special award.
Sharon Miya has been teaching science for 35 years and strives to make science "cool" with hands-on activities to get students excited about learning.
The Utah Museum of Natural History awarded her with the Science Educator of the Year Award, which includes $1,000 cash, lower-bowl Utah Jazz tickets, statewide recognition and a plaque.
