Marc Giauque, KSL Newsradio A Salt Lake man, tired of having campaign signs stolen from his yard, took matters into his own hands over the weekend, and it paid off.

Darrin Walkenhorst had had enough. "People are tired and fed up with what's going on," he said.

After more than a dozen signs left the yard of his Sugarhouse home, he baited one with fishing line and a cowbell attached to his door. The trap was sprung early Sunday.

Video shows Walkenhorst confronting the suspect. "He actually drops the sign, and then goes to pick it up again, and he looks a little bit confused as of why the sign is not coming along with him. So, I think he was a little confused by it," Walkenhorst explained.

It also gave police a good look. They cited the man for theft.
