SALT LAKE CITY — For those who are pining for a new tchotchke or trinket, the Urban Flea Market may be the cure.

The monthly event, held on the second Sunday of each month through October, features dozens of vendors selling secondhand and locally made items inexpensively to their customers.

"So no junk, j-u-n-k, but we do allow junk, j-u-n-q-u-e, you know cool junk," said Urban Flea Market Co-Producer Michael Sanders. "Stuff that's awesome, stuff that's just been sitting around waiting for someone to take it home and love it."

Original artwork, vintage items, furniture and whatever else somebody may love may be bought and sold.

In addition to the vendors, each flea market features a local animal rescue and their animals available for adoption. The event does not offer food vendors, and ask that hungry customers patron local restaurants instead.

The flea market is held on 400 South and State Street in Salt Lake, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
