Greg Neft, KSL NewsRadio A long-awaited addition to the Wasatch Front dining scene is finally here. The Cheesecake Factory opens today at Fashion Place Mall, and people say it's about time.
"I keep getting all these threatening e-mails throughout the year, [asking] when am I going to open here," Howard Gordon, vice president of the company, said. He is just kidding, of course, but says fans of the chain are real fanatics.
"We have so many loyal guests around the country and around the world," Gordon said.
So, why all the hubbub? "We're unusual in the sense that we have an 18-page menu, we have 200 menu selections and we have over 50 desserts," Gordon explained.
That dessert menu includes the cheesecake, of course.
