OGDEN — More than 9,000 people took part in the Ogden Marathon and other races Saturday, and 20,000 people cheered on participants.

The full marathon, which starts at an elevation of 5,400 feet, winds around Pineview Reservoir, through Eden and down Ogden Canyon. Runners dropped more than 1,000 feet onto Ogden's historic 25th Street to the finish.

In the men's division, Fritz Van De Kamp finished first in 2 hours and 23 minutes. He finished first in the men's division in the Salt Lake Marathon last month in 2 hours and 26 minutes.

In the women's division, Cynthia Fowler finished first, crossing the finish line with a time of 2 hours and 47 minutes.

The Get Out and Live Foundation and Zions Bank teamed together for the 12th annual event, which included a half marathon, 5K, kid's kilometer race and Nordic Track Fun and Fitness Expo.
